We are David and Tina Long. We lost our son Tyler to peer-abuse driven bullycide when he was just 17 years old. • Adult bullying issues

In general, any "splitting off" from the rest of society, singling out groups and emphasizing one's affiliation is often a reason bright enough to attract the attention of the aggressor. People with different skin color, different orientation, different wealth or any other distinguishing characteristics can become victims only because they stand out from the mass around them. Today we are going to talk about the bullying of adults and how to cope with it.

David and Tina Long Speaking Events

When we speak, we share Tyler’s story and talk about the legacy one can leave behind. How will you help others? We also discuss how adults can provide support and address bullying with their child’s teachers, counselors, and administrators. We talk about how our youth have the power to make it better for future generations. We tell them their voice is their most powerful tool. We’ve had kids tell us that Tyler’s story saved their lives. Bullies came to us to say they didn’t realize how bad their words hurt. For parents, we explain what we did wrong and how they can work with their bullied child. We engage the parent, child and school for better communication. Our assemblies provide children safety, compassion and a voice. Most of all, we let kids know that they are not alone and that help is available. A great blog to read discussing an ESW1 assembly at the University of Northern Iowa: http://njp40.blogspot.com/2013/09/pin-drop-powerful.html
